About Meadowbrook
Meadowbrook United Church is a congregation of the United Church
in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands which was formed with the union of
the Presbyterian Church and the Congregational Union in 1965, and
later the Disciples of Christ in Jamaica in 1992. We are located
at the heart of the Meadowbrook/Havendale community and share space,
spirit and resources with the Meadowbrook Prep and High Schools,
two main entities that are a part of our wholistic community
engagement.
What are we about?
Our Mission Statement: “Meadowbrook United Church exists to glorify God and then live out God’s purpose for salvation by reflecting the unconditional love of God through dynamic Christian worship, mutual care & support, active community engagement and proactive servant leadership, working towards peace and harmony in community”.
A
place of prayer – We believe prayer is the heartbeat of the
Christian’s journey and we encourage believers to pray without
ceasing. Our goal is to make our church a house of prayer for all.
A place of worship – In worship we remain open to the creativity of God’s Holy Spirit, who guides us in orderly, yet spontaneous worship experience, consistent with His Word and open to the freshness of our encounter with Him.
A place of fellowship – Fellowship is the hallmark of this vibrant congregation. Opportunities for fellowship abound in various church activities and whole-community activities.
A
place of spiritual nourishment –Studying God’s Word is vital to
Christian growth. At Meadowbrook there are many opportunities for
Bible Study. Come, join us and experience the transforming power of
