Rev. Dr. Dan Antwi will be returning to Ghana after

his tour of duty in Jamaica. 

During the 7:30 a.m. Service next week, September 12, 2010,

he will be recognized for his contribution to the

United Church.

2.    All are invited to the installation service of the new President

        of the United Theological College of the West Indies, the

        Rev. Dr. Marjorie Lewis on Monday, September 6, 2010 @

        6 p.m. at UWI Chapel, Mona. 

3.   The Opening and Dedication OF THE “New” New Broughton

        United Church Building on Monday, October 18, 2010 at

       11:00 a.m.  Persons wishing to attend are being asked to give

        your names to Sisters Sadie Findlay or Gloria Nelson by the

        latest September 12, 2010. 

4.  The Webster Memorial Senior Life Ministry will be having a

       trip to the “Holy Land Experience” in Orlando, Florida,

       September 28 – October 2, 2010.  Cost US$569 which includes

       airfare, hotel accommodation – double occupancy and

       continental breakfast, transportation to and from airport and

       to the Holy Land Theme Park inclusive of one day entry.  Please

       call Webster at 926-6127 to make your bookings. 

5.   Did you know that Meadowrest Memorial Gardens is now in its

       16th year of Operation?  Meadowrest was conceptualized by

       Meadowbrook United Church and is now fully owned by the

       United Church in Jamaica & the Cayman Islands.  Let’s give this

       worthwhile project our fullest support. 

6. Register for exciting courses offered by The International

     University of the Caribbean (IUC) founded by The United

      Church.  Please call 754-1921/754-8727.

 

    1.   As a participating church, we are all encouraged to

            attend the Emancipation Lecture which will be held today Sunday, August 1, 2010 @ 4:30 p.m. at St. Mary the Virgin Church, 99 Molynes Road.  Speaker: Dr. Matthew Smith, Department of History, UWI. 

    2.    Vacation Bible School will be held August 9 – 13, 2010

        between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for children

        4 years and over.
