Meadowbrook High School
Graduation 2007, November 1
Our high school's graduation ceremony was held on Thursday
November 1,2007, at 4:00pm. One hundred and sixty three students
graduated, 78 ofwhich were boys and the remaining 85 girls.
It was a lovely ceremony chaired by our very own Rev. Dr. Maitland
Evans. The guest speaker was a past student from Meadowbrook,
Dr.Michael Banbury. Mrs. S. Smith-Whyte from the ministry of
educationwas also a guest at the graduation.

The principal, Mrs. Winsome Reid,in her report, she spoke of the
progress and achievements of the school. She did not however hide
the facts of the school's challengeswith student indiscipline and
mentioned even an incident with occultism.

The school choir was spectacular when they performed "Order My
Steps"to a unique upbeat reggae tempo under the direction of our
very own Paula Brown-Powell.
The valedictory address was ably delivered by Shauna-Kay Battick.
Several graduates received awards for academic and extra-curricular
achievements.

The evening closed with a symbolic gesture of the graduates lighting
each others candle and recessing to the song and charge, "Take your
candle, Go light your World!"
